Here we have a perfect example of doing it wrong.

An 18 year-old girl went on a school field trip this week to visit her Governor. She didn’t like what he had to say and wrote about him on Twitter:

She didn’t ACTUALLY make the mean comments in person. She just kinda played out the fantasy of doing so on Twitter. Immature? Yes. A big deal? Of course not.

Actually, yes. Yes it was a big deal. See, @govsambrownback has a team of people in his office monitoring when his name is mentioned on social media websites.

Actually, he has people do it for him!

Okay, okay. So, we all do that, right? No big deal. 

Actually YES, it was like a totally big deal! Someone brought this teenage girl’s tweet to Gov. Brownback’s attention and he was like, SUPER butthurt about it. In fact he was SO butthurt about it he had someone call the girl’s school principal! 

Her school yelled at her for like an hour and DEMANDED she write the Governor a letter of apology.

She called the news instead.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that there’s a Governor in Kansas who gets REALLY mad when teenage girls are mean to him on the Internet.
