We all remember Toni Basil from her 1982 cheerleading anthem, “Mickey.”  But did you that Toni also covered a few Devo songs on the same album with “Mickey” on it?

Here she is covering Devo’s “Pity You” from the New Traditionalists album.  Her version is called, “You Got A Problem.”

Here Toni Basil covers the classic, “Be Stiff!”

Basil was going out with Jerry Casale at the time and Devo actually served as the backing band on these tracks.

As for “Mickey,” credit for that song goes to Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn. Don’t worry, those dudes have their own blog post coming soon!

Michael Pilmer who works with DEVO on teh interwebz, on tour and maintains the archives over at Devo Obsesso presents some AWESOME live footage from their Hollywood Park show the other night.

Michael is also responsible for THIS.

Gerald Casale sets it straight.

PART II of “Devo Makes Something For Everybody” released today. I know @ifcdotcom have been talking to @DEVO about a TV show. DO IT OR BE DOOMED.

Totally forgot about this.  After I taped the Devo interview on Thursday, Mark pulled up a video on his iPhone to show to Jerry.  I recognized it right away…

“Mark is that the auto-tuned “Intervention” crying guy? Nice.”

Here’s Howard talking about it too:

Let’s all take a moment today to give thanks to all the families out there who open up their lives to television cameras, allowing us to capture on tape their lowest and most private moments!

Oh No It’s MOAR Devo.  This interview was really great.

Also I highly recommend checking out their interview on The Sound of Young America.
