“Our next guest is a classy as fuck singer/songwriter and all of you uggo indie rock bloggers can eat boners for breakfast if you disagree. Her new album, Born To Die has been called the the limo-fuck record of the year by important cultural tastemaker, Jake Fogelnest. Please welcome, Lana Del Rey.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, the best GIF ever made!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the best GIF ever made!

This is just cool.

This is just cool.

On October 1st, 1993, Bill Hicks taped an appearance on “Late Show with David Letterman.” After the taping Letterman decided not to air Hicks’ performance and edited it from the broadcast. Bill Hicks, sick with Pancreatic Cancer at the time, never appeared on Letterman’s show again.

In 2009, Dave had Bill’s mother on the show to apologize for not airing Bill’s stand-up that night. He then aired the routine Hicks originally performed back on the “Late Show” in 1993.

It’s available on YouTube in three parts.

More Dave and Harvey

R.I.P. Harvey Pekar.  You will be missed.

Sorry, I know I should blog more.  I’m always updating Twitter and Facebook so a lot of stuff I would blog about gets eaten up by those evil tools of social media - MUHAHAHA!

Anyway, I’m sure I’m the last person on earth to blog about this, but in case you somehow missed it too, apparently David Letterman had on Bill Hicks’ mother to apologize to her for cutting Bill’s set from The Late Show in 1993.  He then played the unedited set.  It’s hilarious.

From the always brilliant, Merrill Markoe

“Okay. Here it is. My big comment on Mr. Letterman. It is this: As you can imagine this is a very emotional moment for me because Dave promised me many times that I was the only woman he would ever cheat on.”

Perfect.

I LOVE THIS GUY.  As soon as I saw Paul McCartney and David Letterman discussing the “Paul Is Dead” rumors, I thought to myself “I can’t wait to see what Iamaphoney does with this on YouTube!”

Iamaphoney is some anonymous weirdo on YouTube who makes these super creepy videos based around the whole “Paul Is Dead” mythology.  He’s done close to a hundred of these bizarre collage videos and each one is more entertaining than the next.  Keep up the good work, Mr. anonymous weirdo!
