Here is the music video for Real Estate’s “Easy.”
One never knows what darkness lies in the souls of one’s fanbase. A criminal investigation is still ongoing. I am also considering my legal options against Chris Gethard, Gabe Delahaye and director Tom Scharpling.
It appears that some of you don’t know the story of my youth. In an effort to provide some backstory, here is a documentary that we made about my life for MTV back in 2005.
Ten Years Later

I fully expect to see this posted to all ‘relevant’ blogs by the time I wake up tomorrow.
The amazing Eli Braden has written a song about me! I am touched and horrified. All of the ‘relevant music blogs’ need to redo their year-end lists because this is easily the biggest mp3 of 2k11.
Check out Eli’s hilarious song a day podcast.

A few weeks ago Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss from Wild Flag came up to Sirius XMU to talk about their amazing new record. For over 15 years, since I first saw the name Janet Weiss on a Sleater-Kinney record, I have wanted to ask her only ONE question:
What’s it like having the same name as Susan Sarandon’s character in The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
Well, I finally got to ask her… and her answer was AWESOME!

How Was Your Week: Episode 26
“Count Chocula’s Other Teeth”This episode of How Was Your Week? features Village Voice gossip columnist, author and bon vivant MICHAEL MUSTO, who joins Julie to discuss the MTV Video Music Awards, when Madonna was a C-word to him back in the day, his love of Suzanne Somers’s beautiful poetry, other New Yorkers on bikes, and his new book, “Fork on the Left, Knife in the Back.”
Then, Sirius XM radio host and MTV/UCB/ StickAM/SquirtTV Internet superstar JAKE FOGELNEST comes on the show to talk about Sinead O’Connor’s twitter, when exactly your “Old Guy interested in Zappa” self kicks in, why Billy Joel is funny, and his most beloved SNL sketches.
Plus: Chaz Bono and Nancy Grace and Margot Kidder and Daryl Hannah! Things you didn’t even know were offensive about Sting that you can add to the list of things that are already SO offensive about Sting! The “Bull from NIGHT COURT” puppet! Rocky Horror’s plot holes! And why Julie is a little suspicious about the upcoming Charlie Sheen Roast being a big set-up.
A terrific, post-storm COMEDY STORM of podcast gold.

Hey! I’m on this!
My new internet best friend, Jake Fogelnest, played my song “Surf’s Up, Fuckhead” on his Sirius XMU show this morning (I think it was this morning. I’m bad with dates). For those who don’t know, I was in a band called The Starfish a few years ago, and we pretty much ruined ‘surf rock’ forever. I feel like I should apologize to Dick Dale for even trying. So here’s the song, along with Jake’s intro. I’d put it on iTunes but I don’t know how and I’d also feel guilty making people pay for it.
No one has done more for the Surf Rock genre this week than Steve Agee.
Funny how Jake Fogelnest wants to steal my shit! Sorry Jake, but I recorded “Surf’s Up, Fuckhead” with my band The Starfish like two years ago!
I had no idea! But, I am delighted to know that “Surfs up, Fuckhead” is a real song that actually exists. I feel like this changes EVERYTHING!!!!
